New North – SANC Services Inc. is undergoing renewal.

The organization has faced staffing challenges since departure of it’s CEO in 2022. The various appointed boards faced challenges with being able to support the administrative and staffing needs required to maintain organizational strength, and continue to deliver the programming, support and advocacy that New North has been known for.

In February 2025, a new board was formed at the Prince Albert AGM. In the following weeks, executive elections confirmed Rick Laliberte (Beauval) as Chair, Bruce Fidler (Creighton) as Vice-Chair, Abby Besharah (LA Ronge) as Secretary/Treasurer, Sandra Hansen (Stony Rapids) as Far North Sector Rep, and Lyle Herman (La Loche) as Member at Large.

 

Since that time, the board has been meeting regularly and begun rebuilding on the deep roots of the organization. This is a process that requires time and patience. Board members have been working from the side of their desks on a number of projects such as the recruitment of a new CEO, office clean up and archiving, initial member engagement, and preparing financial records.
